RULES FOR MORRIS

1)             When mascot dancing out of line, she must not dance around the outside of the troupe.

2)           Only 1 point taken off by 1 judge per 1 girl short.

3)           If only 1 troupe in intermediates on the day they will dance under section 1.

4)           Only 1 judge will dock for costume, this will also include rosettes coming off but not the bells.

5)           If dancing under time, 1 point will be deducted for under time stated.  This will start at the Beginning of Seasons Championships.

6)           Whilst troupe on arena no tambourines will be banged outside the arena.

7)           Only 1 trainer on arena to give help in novice baby (no stepping or doing arm works allowed just show positions if stuck), help with timing in novice sections including tiny 1, juniors and seniors on their own.

8)           You can double dance in novice sections and throughout league 1 sections tiny, junior and senior.  You may have a novice dancer to mascot on experienced troupes (but not in the line) and counted as a double girl to gain her more experience, you must have 2 fresh faces in each line.  Double dancers will be asked to stand out.

9)           Leaders have full command over troupe even when in line, but nodding and talking is not allowed, or leaving position in line.

10)        No one from any troupes will hold centre when a troupe in dancing, 1 point deducted if found.

11)         First aid to be at all venues.

12)        No trainers doing dance with little ones over 4 years (banging for timing or arm works not allowed) must stand to side only.

13)        Dancing times: -

         Novice Babies 4 in line, 2 tabs

         Babies 1 & 2 - 4 in line 3 tabs after changeover 2 different arm works

            Dinkies 1 & 2 - 4 in line 3 different arm works 2 mins after changeover 2 arm works entry, exit

N/tiny - 6 in line 4 mins after changeover 4 different arm works 4 arm works entry/exit

Tiny - 6 in line 4 mins after changeover 6 different arm work in each fig 4 arm works entry/exit

Junior 1 – 6 in line 5 mins after changeover  6 different arm works 4 arm works entry/ exit

Junior inter – 6 in line 6 different arm works 5 mins after changeover 4 arm works entry/exit

Senior 1 -  8 in line 5 mins after changeover different arm work in each figure at least 10 tablos 4 arm works entry/exit

Senior inter– 6 in line 5 mins after changeover 6 different arm works 4 arm works entry/exit

14)        No tabs to be repeated only in section 2, routines in tiny, junior and senior must be different.

15)        Dinky’s are only allowed to dance up to tiny section

16)        Ages: -   no older than -  by 1st January

17)        Points are counted from 1st competition.

18)        Mascots tinies up to 11 and 11 months by 1st January

Juniors and Seniors up to 12 and 11 months by 1st January.

19)        No girls will step it out unless disabled. even on the day

20)     Girls who are pregnant will not be allowed to step before or after having the baby.  Once she is starting to show then she will not be allowed to dance

21)        Query ages - this must be in the form of a passport , letter from the school or a doctor.  Anyone complaining must pay a £1 and prove it.

22)      At least 12 competitions to be done to enter championships per line.

23)      Babies and dinkies must not have the same tabs.

24)      Leaders allowed 1 minute to time music, if over will be docked, if music turned down or up at trainer’s request leader will be docked.

25)      No altering of costumes once entered arena, only shakers may be given to girls.

26)      If troupe moved up a section then the points go with them.

27)      Name of each troupe girl with Birth Dates on first comp in n/tiny, tinies,  juniors  and seniors and also what sections they dance in.

28)      No dancing out of sections, all troupes must be ready at the start of each section.  Senior order of dance will be drawn on the day.

29)      If troupe late to arena 1 point will be docked, if later than 15 mins then troupe will be disqualified.

30)      Troupes will remain in intermediates for 1 season only and then moved to league 1.

31)        If troupes fail to turn up after booking in entry fees will have to be paid the following week.

32)      Number in babies no less than 3 on arena.

33)      Comps before beginning of season championships are assessment comps to sort out sections for the rest of season.  Dinkies to dance in section 1 for the first few weeks to assess them.

34)   Voucher system - each troupe will have 6 vouchers per line which will enable them to use when short in lines over holidays. Novice tiny can use 1 voucher for 2 girls if only 4 in line

35)   Juniors and Seniors will have only 2 sections only.

36)   If a girl leaves one troupe for another then they are allowed to dance on the back of the troupe for 6 weeks before being allowed to enter a line

37)   An inderpendant judge will be asked to come and judge throughout the year a couple of times, and also for camp.

38)   Outside troupes will have to do at least 4 competitions before they are allowed to hold a venue

39)   No copying armworks or music.

40)   If a girl is taken off ill then the mascot can dance into her place if she is on the top.

Newda Costume Rules

 1)           Leaders and mascots must be distinctly dressed especially if dancing in line, shakers must be different, headbands or rosettes.

2)           Bells in pumps optional.

3)           Jewellery: - plain or coloured round studs (troupe colour) allowed, plain sleepers, more than one set allowed, SOS talismans, wedding rings, engagement rings and signet rings are allowed.  This applies to all sections

4)           Hair ribbons, clips, elastics or bobbles must be troupe colour.

5)           Nail varnish not allowed only clear (except senior age girls) hands would be checked before line starts up.

6)           Dropped shakers, headbands or tambourines or rosettes will be docked 1 point by costume judge, these can be given back by judge otherwise a further 1 point will be deducted except in babies.

7)           Points will not be deducted from leader or mascot if dressed differently when in line.

8)           Hats must be in the same place on heads or docked.

9)           Bows in pumps must be the same.

10)        White bras only with light costumes.

11)         If sock heights are at least 2” below knee on start will be docked

12)        All long hair must be  put up and off the face.

13)       Make up is allowed on junior girls who dance with senior girls but only light eye shadow

14)   Pumps to be cleaned including rims, points detucted if not, if cracked  points will also be deducted.  different styles will not be duducted

No rules will be changed under any circumstances throughout the season until the next AGM meeting.
